The wish customer
When Catherine and Erwin arrived in Lourmarin in 2021, they immediately fell in love with this charming house, located just a few minutes’ walk from the village center.
The garden is modest in size, but its potential is clear. The pool, ideally located in front of the house, is just waiting to be showcased. However, the existing landscaping lacks cohesion, and the overall design does not allow you to fully enjoy this exceptional setting.
Before long, we envision an elegant, harmonious, and easygoing garden that stays true to the spirit of this Provençal home.

Preserve what already exists whenever possible
At Jolijardin, we always prioritize making the most of existing plants.
Before planting, we select the trees and shrubs to be preserved. Whenever possible, we prefer to transplant them rather than uproot them.
Giving plants a second life is part of our philosophy and helps preserve the spirit of the garden while reducing waste.
Completely redesign the plantings
We completely redesigned the area around the house to create a more harmonious and welcoming garden.
In particular, we planted:
- Rose bushes known for their abundant blooms
- Jasmine to fill summer evenings with fragrance
- Agapanthus for their magnificent blue blooms
- Pittosporums to Add Structure to Flower Beds
- Tulbaghias and erigerons to add a touch of lightness and color throughout the seasons
The lawn has also been completely renovated to restore a welcoming green space around the pool.
Restoring the Garden to Its True Purpose
Beyond aesthetics, our goal was to make this small garden a pleasant place to spend time.
By thoughtfully redesigning the landscaping, we’ve created open spaces for relaxation while highlighting the pool and the natural shade provided by the majestic cedars that tower over the garden.
Every space now serves a purpose, without ever feeling cluttered.
Results
A Garden That Reveals all its charm
The scents of jasmine and roses fill the air on beautiful summer evenings, while agapanthus, tulbaghias, and erigerons provide a colorful display for much of the year.
Catherine and Erwin enjoy their outdoor space to the fullest. They love hosting family and friends, spending time by the pool, and walking to the Lourmarin market every Friday.
