Where it all begins
A double love story
Jolijardin was born of a double love affair: Pierre Isirdi’s love of nature, and the love that has united Céline and Pierre since they met in Aix-en-Provence in 2006.
From an early age, Pierre was fascinated by landscapes, trees and gardens. Observing plants, understanding how a garden is organized, imagining living spaces… all this quickly became a matter of course.
After studying rural development at the Lycée Agricole in Uzès, he set up his own landscaping business in 2001, with a simple idea in mind: to design gardens that are beautiful to look at, pleasant to live in and suited to the Luberon climate.
He didn’t know it at the time, but another encounter would transform his adventure.
Two paths that cross
A meeting that makes growing a dream
In 2006, Céline entered Pierre’s life.
It wasn’t long before they shared much more than a personal history: a common love of nature, gardens and the landscapes of Provence.
Little by little, an idea began to take shape.
Create a place where people can come to choose their plants, ask for advice, talk about gardening and stroll among the plants.
A simple, lively place where everyone can imagine their future garden.
A dream that takes root
The birth of Jolijardin nursery
In 2009, this dream became reality.
The Jolijardin nursery opens its doors in Puyvert, in the heart of the Luberon.
On opening day, the gravel is still fresh and the rakes in hand. The first customers pass through the gate. The adventure begins.
Little by little, the nursery is being built and organized:
- construction of the first greenhouses to protect plants
- creation of areas dedicated to seasonal flowers
- development of a decorating universe to help everyone imagine their own garden
Over the years, Jolijardin has become a place where people come as much for the plants as for the advice and exchanges.
Growing without losing focus
Development landscaping
While the nursery grows, the landscaping business continues to expand.
Pierre and his team design made-to-measure gardens throughout the Luberon region: planting olive trees, landscaping, creating Provencal atmospheres adapted to dry soils and the Mediterranean climate.
Each project is designed to blend naturally into the landscape and last over time.
Little by little, Jolijardin became both a local nursery and a landscaping company recognized throughout the region.
Another way to protect
Choosing a garden healthier
In 2015, an important turning point was reached.
Céline has introduced Integrated Biological Protection and stopped using chemical pesticides and weedkillers.
This choice requires more work, more observation and more attention paid to the plants. But today it allows us to offer plants that thrive in a healthier environment.
For plants.
For teams.
For local wildlife.
And for customers.
The adventure continues
A family business looking to the future
Today, Jolijardin brings together a passionate team with two complementary businesses:
- a local nursery rooted in the Luberon region
- a team of landscapers who create and maintain gardens adapted to the local climate
But the spirit remains the same as on day one: to welcome, advise and share our passion for plants, and to design gardens that make you feel good.
And each new project adds a little more to the story.
