Chez Alan
Arriving from London, Alan and his wife fell under the spell of Cucuron, at the foot of the Luberon.
For them, this house is a place to relax, where they come from time to time.
Their expectations were clear:
an attractive, contemporary garden… and above all, one that required no maintenance.
Field analysis
Three challenges for a garden perfectly adapted to our customers’ lifestyles
1
Occasional presence means limited maintenance
2
Existing garden difficult to access
3
Impossible to intervene with large machines
Jolijardin expertise
We made a radical and coherent choice:
Create almost self-sufficient beds.
Selection of suitable plants: agaves, yucca rostratas, dasylirions, hesperaloes, sedums, prickly pears.
Graphic, hardy plants perfectly adapted to the climate.
To keep intervention to a minimum:
– Installation of a mulching fabric (fibre)
– Pozzolan cover
Results:
– Very few weeds
– No watering constraints
– A contemporary, mineral and structured aesthetic finish.
Access was complicated, so we had to work without machinery.
– Handwork
– Pickaxe, shovel, wheelbarrow
– Precise site organization
A real field job, demanding but mastered.
Results
Today, when they come to Cucuron, Alan and his wife enjoy their outdoors to the full, in complete serenity.
