Collongue” house in Lourmarin

Véronique and Philippe

The wish customers

Véronique, a painter based in Belgium, comes to recharge her batteries in the Luberon with Philippe, on the Chemin de Collongue in Lourmarin. They fall in love with this property surrounded by meadows and forests of pine and oak, with open, soothing views as far as the eye can see. Their wish: A place of rest and serenity, where you can enjoy the landscape with your family. Initially, Véronique imagined a garden with small beds, “à la belge”. We quickly guided her towards a more appropriate approach for this exceptional site.

Solutions provided by our landscaping department

Doing less but much better

Our conviction was clear:
In such a powerful place, you have to know how to stand back.
We therefore chose to:
– Simplify volumes
– Remove incoherent elements
– Avoid multiplying small clumps
– Highlight the existing landscape

Structure with large gestures

We designed a clear and elegant garden, based on strong lines:
– A vast rustic lawn veneer for an immediate effect
– The creation of a large lavender grove, emblematic of the place
– An orchard of fruit trees to bring life and use
– A natural path accompanied by an alignment of olive trees towards the forest
These choices give a clear, durable and profoundly Provencal structure.

Controlled plant accents

Around this base, we worked on areas closer to the house:
– Creation of discreet and elegant flowerbeds
– Climbing roses along the walls to add charm
– Enhancement of the space around the natural pool with beautiful boxwood
Each intervention has been designed to accompany… without overloading.
